Worth noting as well that Laravel is badass web development framework! It has more stars on Github than Ruby On Rails and is super beginner friendly. PHP is syntactically similar to Javascript and https://laracasts.com/ is full of videos specifically made for total n00bs (as well as content for senior devs).
